Derek nodded as she spoke, explaining that it was her uncle that had decided on their move. A uncle that wanted to save his family, a father that didn't want to uproot his child's life, disrupt it's normality. The thoughts of the two brothers caused Derek to shake his head lightly, reflecting on his own family for a moment. The hand he was delt in comparison to hers caused him to chuckle in a sarcastic manner. "Your family sound nice. " Taking a sip of his vodka, Derek couldn't hold the grin that spread across his face, after placing his glass back down. He was amused at the fact that people still followed those specific traditions. "Are you traditional in the sense of trading goats as an offering for the hand in marriage? In addition to asking for it?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow. Some cultures amused him because of their traditions. Some he couldn't wrap his mind around. When she said he didn't have to explain himself, Derek released the tension on his jaw, as he relaxed some. It's hard enough explaining the supernatural to a human, he didn't know if he could explain how his sister he thought died, was alive and how he has a sadistic uncle. At least he didn't think he could explain without her head doing a full 360 like the little girl from "The Exorcist. " Derek twisted the glass in his hands as she spoke. The woman had been through a lot, having to leave her country, despite her being in existence or not, she obviously has been cultured in its history. Then to have lost her family, Derek could only hope she was telling the truth, cause then there would be someone that knows what he went through, human or not. "I'm sorry for your lost." He said before glancing around, some of the patrons leave the establishment, spotting one man passed out in a booth. "What do you do when you're not working here?" He then questioned, feeling as though they've both dwelled on the past enough. Amy Annalysia Peroni

Amy had smiled and even let a laugh slip at his sarcastic manner paired with a low chuckle. "Oh yeah, they're swell!" She replied back with just as much sarcasm as he did while she took a sip of her drink. Sure, she had missed Italy, but she didn't miss her family one bit. If they wanted to throw them all out, she didn't care. She hadn't called them family since she was old enough to understand the history behind the Peroni name. Amy found that she had actually been enjoying her time with the stranger and that's when she had pretty much stopped in her tracks. All this time and she didn't even know his name. She had smiled sweetly, her grin going practically from ear to ear as she tried, and failed, to hide her amusement. "Why? You asking for my hand are you? When Joanna said a tall, handsome stranger would walk into my life, I thought she was joking," she tossed her head back in a laugh and looked at the clock on the wall. She had been shocked when she saw that the clock showed ten minutes until closing.
"Thanks, I'm sorry for yours as well," she had whispered as she pulled her scarf, to make it a bit looser around her neck, as the heat from the vents was making her feel like she was baking on the sun. Not in, on. "Well, apart from working, working and working, not much," she laughed as she took another sip of her drink, slowly starting to clean down the small bar so it was ready for opening the next night. "You?" She asked as she hoped to keep the conversation going, but for some reason, she really didn't know why. Words: 294 Derek Hale

Derek laughed lightly in reply to her sarcasm. It felt good to him, to not be on edge for a change. The now quite environment caused a soothing atmosphere, the instrumental music playing over the speakers added to the tranquillity of the place, at least it felt that way for Derek. Hopefully he would be able to go a week without having to worry about trouble, but that's just a hope. Derek hadn't seen his uncle in a long while, so he wouldn't be surprised if Peter was the source of their next issue, the thought caused him to shake his head some before turning back to the woman. Derek too smiled as she replied to his question. "I haven't been far when it comes to exploring places outside of Beacon Hills. I figured I'd ask. " He replied with a light shrug, still holding his smile. "Seems to me that this Johanna could be one of those people that are always right. " He said before taking a drink. "Derek Hale," he started. "There, now I'm no longer a stranger. " He finished extending his hand for her to take. Feeling as though if he gave her his last name she'd give him hers, and with that he could look her up and see if there were any information about her prior to their meeting. "Thank you. " He said in reply to her condolences. Being a werewolf, his body temperature was always high so the heat in the building didn't bother him, which is how he could tell that the woman before him wasn't a werewolf. "You can crank up the AC if you want. " He said before glancing to his phone. He saw that it was almost closing time, he then decided he'd stay until otherwise stated. "Sounds thrilling. " Derek replied with a chuckle before shaking his head some. "When I'm not going around town, I modify my car and motorcycle when I have the time. " Which, in all honesty, is something Derek has been lacking more and more of. Amy Annalysia Peroni

Amy had always hated the instrumental music that played quietly at closing. Honestly, she would have wanted something a bit more upbeat, a bit more pumping, much like the music that haunted the walls every night. Amy had been looking forward to the next night, her one night off that she had been asking, pestering, begging for and she had finaly gotten it. Amy laughed slightly at his answer about Joanna. "Well, she has a knack for it actually. She's very on point about some things," she smiled at the thought of her over-enthusiastic cousin. She had been a bit shocked when he held out his hand for her to shake and introduced himself, but Amy had reason to be weary, but she shocked herself even more when she took his hand and shook it daintily. "Amy Peroni and don't you even think about calling me Pepperoni," she laughed as she gave him the warning that she gave everyone when they heard what her last name was. She smiled when he said she could turn up the AC and she nodded, gratefully. "Thanks," she whispered as she made her way toward the control panel and pressed a few buttons. She sighed in content as the bar started to cool down slightly and she couldn't wait to be finished for the night. "What kind of car do you have?" Amy asked as she finished polishing up the wine glasses and started to wipe down the stainless steel benches of the bar. Words: 250 Derek Hale

Derek watched as a bystander stumbled out of the establishment and into the backseat of an awaiting taxi. He found it amusing how the club could provide entertainment for the youth of Beacon Hills, yet the same club could also get those that are older, so drunk they won't remember the night before. The music that played now was completely different, in the day it was tecno pop and at night, classical. Perhaps the manager's wanted to clam the party goers before the headed home to sleep into the next night. Turning his attention back to the woman, Derek laughed as she spoke of her friend Johanna. " It must get annoying, her constantly being right. " Then again, this woman didn't seem one that was quick to anger, working at a place like this, one would have to have a calm temperament as alcohol already escalates things. After shaking her hand, Derek finished his drink before grinning at her words. "I actually was thinking more like the movie "47 Roni" instead of "Pepperoni." " He said with a grin, purposely leaving out the extra 'N' in the movie title. Reaching into his back pocket, Derek took out his wallet in addition to $50. "You said it's on the house, think of it as a tip." Now she wouldn't have to explain how forty plus dollars of alcohol just miraculously didn't make it into the register. "A 2010 Chevy Camaro. I haven't done any drastic modifications for it though just the usual tune up every now and then. Why mess with a good thing, you know?" Derek finished with a shrug. Amy Annalysia Peroni

Amy watched as all the drunks stumbled out of the club and the bouncers dragged out the unconscious ones who had passed out in the booths. They would take them home, because everybody knew everyone. There were hardly any secrets in Beacon Hills apart from the supernatural ones, but even they were badly kept. Classical music had never been Amy's taste. She had walked over to a panel on the wall and pushed a button, the techno music pumping softly, replacing the disgusting music that had automatically come on after the techno. "You'd think, but no! It's quite a surprise when she's wrong. But she's always happy, full of life, overenthusiastic, but then again, which Italian isn't?" she laughed as she finished cleaning off the bar. She couldn't help but smile when he mentioned the movie. Not a lot of people thought of it, they instead jumped straight to pepperoni as it was the most common pizza topping and Italy is practically the founding place for pizza. "Don't even worry about it. My father owned the place, so I guess it belongs to me now," she whispered as she looked around the place that she had practically grown up in. She shook her head to rid herself of upsetting memories and tuned in when he mentioned his car. "You're gonna have to take me for a spin sometime. I love Chevy's," she smiled as she opened the till, grabbed all the bills and put it into a bag before turning around, so her back was facing the bar. She bent down and opened the safe, before putting the bag in and securing it safely before she could go to the bank the following day. "It's almost closing time, but if you like, you can come back to my place for more drinking?" She offered before scribbling down a couple of numbers on her deposit form for the bank. The sight of people helping each other, even if it was as simple as the bouncer making sure the party goers didn't collapse, showed Derek that there was still hope for man kind, even if it was small. The sound of the music caused Derek to raise an eyebrow as he looked towards the speakers, it wasn't as nearly as loud as the usual music but it was just loud enough to keep those working late awake. Derek grinned as he spoke of her friend. She sounded like someone that could make light out of a dark situation. She reminded him of his sister Laura, she too was cheerful but she was also tactical and wise beyond her years, which is what made her perfect for being the Alpha. "Is she in town with you?" He then pondered. As she said not to mention it, Derek folded the cash before putting it back into his wallet. "Well, I'm sure he'd be proud of you for keeping it in good condition. Most bars, clubs, etc get a F for their food. I'm not even going to mention what they get for their health score. " He finished with a chuckle. "Do you?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow. "What's your favorite year and model?" He said as he slipped his wallet into his coat pocket. As she invited him back to her place, Derek nodded. "We can kill two birds with one stone. You get to go for a ride, while I continue to get free drinks. " Amy Annalysia Peroni

Amy hadn't been surprised when he raised an eyebrow at her taste in music. "What? Not your kind of sound?" She teased lightly as she took off the apron that had been wrapped tightly around her waist and stuffed it into her bag. She took the glasses that they had used and put them in the big industrial sink at the end of the bar, content with washing them at the beginning of the night. "Yeah, Joanna lives with me. I'm her legal guardian, considering she lost her parents as well as myself," she smiled tightly, the topic a sore spot for her. She tried as hard as she could to create a good life for Joanna, for her not to have to worry about the materialistic things, the money things. Granted, Amy had gotten quite a bit from her inheritance, as did Joanna, but the only difference was, Amy was over 21 and Joanna wasn't, which literally meant Joanna wouldn't be able to access that inheritance. "Thanks," she smiled as she rolled her shoulders, ridding herself of the stress that always came with dealing with people who had had way too much to drink. "My favourite? Come on, that's like asking a girl which pair of shoes she loves the most or what ice cream is her favourite! How can I possibly choose just one?" She laughed as she tossed her straight, black ponytail over her shoulder and out of the way. "Pull your car around while I close up?" She asked as she grabbed her bag from underneath the bar and the keys to lock everything up. "Trust me, there's so much alcohol, even I don't know what to do with it," she laughed as she walked towards the radio and turned off the pumping music, an eerie silence going over the club like it had become the most haunted place in Beacon Hills and trusting her father, it probably was. Derek didn't actually have a type of music, usually when he was in his car he was focused on his destination, and his point of return, he would normally just listen to whatever was on the radio only turning it off if the feedback became too much for his ears. "No," he started with a chuckle in reply, "the transition was just really smooth. " He said sarcastically, making a 'okay' single with his hand before reaching into his coat pocket as he pushed his bar stool in with his free hand. Taking out his keys, Derek looked to her as she continued to speak. "How old is she?" He then asked, knowing what it's like to be a guardian to someone. Despite his sister being able to take care of herself, Derek still felt the need to care for her, especially considering what they went through, which is why he's over protective of those he cares about. "You're welcome." Derek said before chuckling lightly as she compared his questions to other topics. For him, it wasn't hard to choose his favorite shoes nor ice cream flavor as they were his combat boots and cookies and cream. But, then again guys are simple compared to women as they can get rather detailed when it comes to simplistic things. "Sure." Derek then said in reply to her question before heading towards the door. As the glass divider creaked open, Derek could hear the rumbling from the skies above. "Great.." He muttered quietly to himself before going out to his car. Pulling up to the front of the establishment, Derek stepped out, but left the car running to heat up before going back inside. "I don't have an umbrella, but it's not that far from here to my car. " He explained. Derek actually liked the rain, as it reminded him of when he and his sister Laura would go out when it was storming and just like kids caught snowflakes on their tongues, Derek and Laura would catch rain drops. "Gee thanks," she replied sarcastically as she did a mock curtsey. "I'd just like to thank all of my fans, for this glorious moment," she tried her hardest to keep a straight face, but she couldn't do it. She collapsed into a fit of laughter and had to steady herself on the edge of the bar. "Sixteen," she responded as she pursed her lips in thought of her younger cousin. She cherished Joanna and she had absolutely no clue what she would do without her. She knew that when she got back to her place with Derek in tow, Joanna would steer herself clear, as she wasn't one to trust as easily as Amy. She smiled as she watched him walk out to get his car, whilst she walked over to all the switches and turned them off. She was just about to go and lock the front doors when Derek walked back inside, explaining that it was raining and that he didn't have an umbrella. Amy didn't mind the rain, considering of which kind of supernatural she was. "That's cool, I don't mind the rain," she smiled as she walked toward the doors, ready to lock up and get away from the stench of stale ale and vomit. Her jaw dropped when she saw his car. She had always been impressed with cars, but this one definitely topped the cake. "Nice ride," she whispered as she took it all in. She turned around and locked the doors, effectively keeping all of the alcohol safe. She had walked to work that night, so it didn't matter even if she accepted the ride. She looked up to the sky, rain pattering down softly, yet gradually getting heavier as time went on. She felt her eyes flash a light purple before the rain got lighter and gradually disappeared. She liked being a weather witch. Things usually worked out well in the end. Words: 320 Tags: Derek Hale Notes: Sorry it took so long! I've been a tad busy xD
