Lorraine Martin was Lydia's paternal grandmother.When Lydia was young, they would read The Little Mermaid and Lydia insisted on being called "Ariel" after the book's main character. Decades ago, Lorraine worked for IBM in San Francisco and was in love with a woman named Maddy.

Lydia believes her grandmother, with knowledge of computers, was used by The Benefactor to create the code she uses for The Dead Pool. Lydia relates a story in which her grandmother had a premonition that Maddy was going to die during a storm on the lake, suggesting she was Banshee like her granddaughter. After Maddy's death, she sought out Parapsychologists to explain her abilities. This led her to Meredith Walker. The experiments carried out on the girl drove her insane.

Lorraine was committed to Eichen House where she was later killed by Brunski. In a flashback, Lorraine had a Trepanning hole in her head while in Eichen House. She tells Lydia that "they're coming for all of us."

Mr Martin

Age : mid 30's 

Family : Natalie Martin (wife, divorced), Lydia Martin (daughter) 

Mr Martin and Natalie divorced a long time ago, and Lydia choose to stay with her mother, Natalie. Though he is away from them he cares for his daughter. But a part of him does not like it that she wanted to stay with his wife rather than with him.As he and Lydia's mother, Natalie meet with Lydia's teachers, he seems ready for the worst . He's expecting "bad grades, concentration issues, bad behavior." We don't see his reaction to learning that Lydia is the smartest and most popular girl in school. As Lydia recovers from the attack during the school dance, her father stays with her at the hospital.

Natalie Martin 

Age : mid 30's 

Family : Lorraine Martin (mother-in-law, dead), Mr. Martin (husband, divorced), Lydia Martin (daughter)

She and her husband bicker during Parent/Teacher conferences at School. She claims her husband "warped" Lydia by forcing her to choose with which of her parents she wanted to live.After the attack during the school dance, Mrs. Martin is seen briefly at Lydia's hospital bedside.

As Lydia struggles with Peter Hale's mind games, her mother forces her to see school psychologist Ms. Morrell. Mrs. Martin is supportive after Lydia is attacked and nearly strangled to death by Jennifer Blake. She offers her daughter advice on make up to cover the ligature marks, comparing the marks on her daughter's neck to the hickeys she received in her own youth.She takes over teaching Beacon Hills High School science classes after the death of Adrian Harris. Peter uses her to give Lydia a message by hitting on her. She lets Lydia use their lake house before they sell it.

Lydia Martin, is a smart, popular, and beautiful student at Beacon Hills High School  has developed quite a bit since she met Allison Argent, Scott McCall, and Stiles Stilinski. She was, on the surface at least, shallow and spoiled but this turned out to be an elaborate act to hide the fact that she possesses a genius level IQ. She is well versed in chemistry and understands both classical and archaic Latin.

The ruse, along with her relationship with Jackson Whittemore, was part of a carefully orchestrated plan to maintain her popularity at Beacon Hills High School. Lydia was manipulative with her friends, using them whenever it suited her ambitions. As the supernatural elements began to close in though, her carefully crafted façade began to fall apart. After being attacked at the winter formal by Peter Hale, she found herself haunted by her attacker. Lydia helps bring Peter back to life. She was later able to show her true love for Jackson and it was that love which saved his life, by transforming from Kanima to Werewolf.

Jackson's abrupt move to London, England seemed to leave Lydia emotionally numb. She returned to her "just on the surface" existence and took a number of lovers over the summer, expressing a "love them and leave them" philosophy. When supernatural threats arose again, Lydia found herself drawn to gruesome murder scenes again and again. She learned she was a Banshee and decided to use her abilities for the greater good... if she can figure out how to actually use her abilities.

She fell in love again too. While she had entered into a purely physical relationship with Aiden to aid her friends in defeating the The Alpha Pack, she developed deeper feelings. She helps Scott and the others track down Malia Tate, the werecoyote. She and Allison seek out Peter's help to learn how to use her Banshee powers. Lydia translates a memory that Talia took from Peter. Later, she and Allison conclude that Malia is Peter's daughter.Lydia and Scott enter Stiles' mind to retrieve the real Stiles and she reveals to Peter the name of his daughter. The Nogitsune kidnaps her and uses her banshee skills to know when the Oni come to kill him. She warns the others through Meredith Walker not to look for her, they do anyway. She is last seen sobbing after sensing Allison's death.

She goes with Scott, Stiles, and Kira to the school for a final battle with the Nogitsune. She once again suffered genuine heartbreak when Aiden was killed. Although her feelings may not be as strong for Stiles, they have developed a strong and caring friendship.Lydia travels to Mexico with Scott, Stiles, Kira, and Malia. She is captured and interrogated by Araya Calavera. She helps Dr. Deaton watch Derek until he escapes and later is drawn to a dead body Kate left at a gas station. Lydia is drawn to a house where Walcott family was murdered. She and Deputy Parrish discover the family had a storage freezer full of human bodies.She warns Scott about the escaped boy, just in time for him to save the lives of others. 

Lydia is worried about her families financial situation. She ends up hosting a party at her grandmother's lake house when uninvited guests show up during the full moon.
